Blue Angels

The United States Navy’s Navy Flight Demonstration Squadron, popularly known as the Blue Angels, was formed in 1946 and is the world’s first officially sanctioned military aerial demonstration team, as well as the oldest currently flying aerobatics team. Check out this great Blue Angles video….

Dreams

For 12 years the Douglas A-4F Skyhawk was the chosen plane for the famous Blue Angels, the United States Navy’s Navy Flight Demonstration Squadron. Between December 1974 and November 1986 the Blue Angels performed their routines with elegance and precision. Here is an old Van Halen video featuring the Blue Angels.

Tomcat & Hornet do a great flyby

It is well known that the F-18 Hornet replaced the veteran F-14 Tomcat on the aircraft carriers of the US Navy. So Tomcat pilots didn’t really like Hornet pilots. Regardless, this has to be one of the coolest flybys in the history of flybys, and one of those old meets new formation flying.

Fast plane gone

This F-14 Tomcat came in for a high speed pass. Water vapor was cool, noise was great, crew of the USS John Paul Jones was enthused…. But when the plane climbed away, something crazy happened…. the large fireball and the loud BANG exploded into everyone’s years.

Speed and noise

I just love high speed passes. In areas of relatively high humidity, as the aircraft zooms by at high speed, water vapor condenses into droplets, resulting in spectacular images. Check out this F-18 Hornet as it zooms by.

Magic Carpet Ride

Have you ever wondered what it would be like on board a US Navy F-18 Hornet? Come along for this magic ride. Great on board camera footage combined with a really spectacular soundtrack. Steppenwolf – Magic carpet Ride.
